Professor Yu receives a GAHTC grant

Professor Shuishan Yu received a grant from GAHTC (Global Architectural History Teaching Collaborative), funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning and its History Theory and Criticism Program.

He will be leading a group of three architectural historians (Shuishan Yu, Northeastern University, Chinese Architecture; Hyungmin Pai, University of Seoul, Korean Architecture; Sean H. McPherson, Bridgewater State University, Japanese Architecture) to generate teaching materials on East Asian architecture during this summer and fall.

The GAHTC is a network of scholars committed to expanding the consciousness and reach of global history into the teaching of the History of Architecture, understood in the broadest sense to include the history of cities, landscapes and the other arts.
