David Karpf: The MoveOn Effect

Professor Dave Karpf, a noted scholar of politics and new media, will discuss his book “The MoveOn Effect: The Unexpected Transformation of American Political Advocacy.” While most discussions of new technology and politics focus on the potential to empower individuals, Karpf illuminates the internet’s impact on political associations—both in the creation of new advocacy tools and structures and in the evolution of traditional organizations.

Karpf is an Assistant Professor of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. Follow him on Twitter at @davekarpf.
