The Politics of Scandal, with Brendan Nyhan

Communication Studies presents Brendan Nyhan, a Dartmouth University political scientist who studies why scandals break when they do. Nyhan is a columnist for the Columbia Journalism Review and frequently appears on NPR’s “On the Media” to discuss the life of political scandals in the news cycle, why some political scandals and not others become big news, and what the media does right– and wrong– in covering political scandal. Among other things Nyhan will discuss news coverage of recent political scandals including those involving the NSA and Benghazi.
