Michelle Carr


Michelle Carr graduated from Northeastern University in May of 2004 with a Bachelors degree in Communication Studies; with a focus in Television and Film Production as well as History. After the completion of her degree she moved to London and worked for Ascent Media, One Post Production; assisting with various motion pictures as well as commercials and music videos.

In 2005 she worked for NBC, Channel 7, WHDH-TV Boston. In 2006 she studied Film Studies at Kingston University in London research in the area of History and Film looking at the practice and research that goes into the film-making process to produce historical films. More specifically, how filming on location plays a major role in the construction of visual history, adding a sense of connection to the past within historical, heritage, and literary adaptation films.  During that time she also worked for the British Film Institute on various projects; including the reconstruction of the BFI Southbank and the London Film Festival.

Michelle joined Northeastern University’s Communication Studies Department in the Fall of 2007, where she began teaching Television Field Production, Studio Production, and Audio Production. She developed the Dialogue of Civilization Program teaching Documentary Filmmaking abroad in London, England and Rome, Italy. She also continues to work professionally in the Boston area on various video projects as a freelance editor and videographer.
