Campus As Canvas: Public Art Tour of Northeastern

We are excited to partner again this year with ArtWeek Boston for a guided tour of Northeastern’s public artworks.  Launched in 2014, the Northeastern Public Art Initiative creates a stronger sense of place on Northeastern’s dense, urban canvas. Supported by President Joseph E. Aoun’s mandate to turn the “campus into a canvas”, this initiative has commissioned large-scale public artworks from international and Boston-based artists, as well as Northeastern faculty and students. “Art placed in public provides a unique opportunity to trigger ideas and provoke new ways of thinking” says Art + Design’s, Nathan Felde.

The Public Art Initiative is a very public statement that Northeastern is an incubator of new ideas and creativity. This tour will be lead by Bree Edwards, Director of the Northeastern Center for the Arts, where she is initiating artists residencies and public art projects. We hope you can make it!

This tour is a part of an informational breakfast about Northeastern’s certificate program. For more information, and to register for this tour, follow the link below.
