Philip Tidwell, Aalto University, Helsinki
Philip Tidwell is an architect and educator based in Helsinki, Finland. His work and research focus on the interactions between matter, form and constructive technique. He teaches design studios, seminars and workshops in the Wood Program at Aalto University and has served as a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Arkansas, Massachusetts and Florida. In addition to teaching, he runs an independent design studio, Peripheral Projects.
Philip’s work has been supported by the Sasakawa Foundation and the US Fulbright Fellowship among others. His studios and professional projects have most recently been recognized by The Architectural Review (2018 Jury Commendation) and the Espoo Museum of Modern Art (first prize in the competition for the Tapio Wirkkala – Rut Bryk archives).
