Machine Learning: Implications for Design. MFA Alumni Talk — Mahima Pushkarna, Google Brain

Mahima Pushkarna is a Visual Designer in the Big Picture Visualization Group at Google Brain, where she designs digital products and interfaces in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. As a part of Google’s People + AI Research Initiative, Mahima explores the relationship between design practices, design thinking and Machine Learning. With 6+ years of broad experience in UI/UX, visual design, strategy and design research, she has led numerous design, experience and strategy projects across various industry verticals. Before joining Google, Mahima worked at the Design Lab at MIT and Innovation by Design, exploring the future of technology using design thinking, and at Ion Interactive, where she designed self-evolving visualization tools.

Mahima has an MFA in Information Design & Visualization from Northeastern University. Before that, she studied design at Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology (Bangalore, India) and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
