Adapted from Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House by Ingmar Bergman
Directed by Antonio Ocampo-Guzman
February 15 – 19
Ryder Theatre Lab
A stark, new vision of the groundbreaking play about one woman’s attempt to assert her own identity — and the shocking revelation that changes her destiny. Famed director Ingmar Bergman commissioned this new adaptation for the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre production which was translated into English by Frederick J. Marker and Lise-Lone Marker. Bergman followed Ibsen’s text but enhances the play’s unique economy of dramatic action and intensifies the intimacy of the character psychological portraits.
