Visualizing Uncertainty in the Time of COVID-19

Understanding and explaining uncertainty is a crucial part of data visualization. That’s never been more true than during the pandemic, when accurately communicating the scope, spread and risks of COVID-19 is of vital importance. Join us for a panel and interactive workshop featuring some of the people at working the forefront of this challenge:

  • Chiqui Esteban, Graphics Director, Washington Post
  • Josh Holder, Graphics Editor, The New York Times
  • Enrico Bertini, Associate Professor Tanden School of Engineering, NYU. (Professor Bertini will be joining Northeastern in 2022 as an associate professor with the College of Arts, Media and Design and Khoury College of Computer Sciences.)

Hosted by Dan Zedek, Professor of the Practice, School of Journalism and Steven Geofrey, Designer in Residence for the Center for Design and Associate Director of NUVis.
