Northeastern’s Art + Design Department welcomes Zachary Kaplan, executive director of Rhizome, a digital culture organization based on the internet and an affiliate in residence at the New Museum in NYC. Before Rhizome, he was affiliated with the Renaissance Society, Chicago; MoCA Los Angeles; the Masters in Public Art Studies program at University of Southern California; and art history at Occidental College, Los Angeles.
Rather than deliver a traditional lecture, Kaplan will engage in a public dialogue over Rhizome’s Net Art Anthology with students in Gloria Sutton’s course Issues in Contemporary Art. An edited version of their conversation will appear in the next edition of the journal VoCA.
The event is free and open to the public.
