Allison Cockshaw-Betsold

Assistant Director of Bands

Allison Cockshaw-Betsold is the Assistant Director of Bands for Northeastern University. She directs the NU Pep Band, which can be heard at all Women’s Volleyball, Women’s and Men’s Hockey, and Women’s and Men’s Basketball games on campus and occasionally soccer and feild hockey. The Pep Band has also performed at Fenway Park, prior to Boston Red Sox games. Allison also directs the NU Concert Band, an ensemble comprised of undergraduate and graduate students at Northeastern, performing standard and contemporary wind ensemble repertoire.

The NU Concert Band is proud of its history collaborating with the esteemed musicians of the world-renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra. Allison earned a Master of Music in Wind Conducting from The University of Kansas, where she was the director of the Women’s Volleyball Pep Band, an assistant to the Marching Jayhawks, and a collaborator with the university’s Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and University Band. Prior to KU, Allison graduated with a BM in Music Education and Trumpet Performance from The University of Massachusetts – Amherst.
