Chris Grimley

Part-time faculty

Chris Grimley is a partner at the firm over,under, an interdisciplinary practice that creates built environments and designed experiences through the lens of advocacy. Chris has organized, designed, and implemented experiential environments, interiors, master plans, and branding initiatives for clients ranging from small offices to large institutions.

He has broad experience in architecture, graphic design, and interior design. Chris is the lead designer of ArtFarm, a cultural center for the City of Somerville, and is the project director for the office’s work in placemaking and wayfinding for clients such as MASSMoCA, MIT’s Department of Urban Planning, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. His book, which he co-authored and designed, Heroic: Concrete Architecture and the New Boston has been awarded honors by DoCoMomo and the Boston Preservation Alliance. In addition, he cuates the pinkcomma gallery, is a co-founder of Design Biennial Boston, and recently released the Boston Brutalist Map, published by Blue Crow Media.
