Kara Braciale is a visual artist and curator whose research and art practice take a variety of forms including the production of paintings and objects, video and digital works as well as curatorial projects. She explores encoding meaning at the intersection of the material and digital realms as well as around understanding problems of translation as they relations to visual and linguistic systems.
She curates and co-directs Proof Gallery a 501(c)3 not-for profit exhibition space in South Boston. Creating solo and group exhibition opportunities for artists through an open call as well as invitation, Proof is a vital arts venue in Boston. As an educator she employs an interdisciplinary pedagogical approach. Her courses have partnered with community organizations to develop projects through Service-Learning. Recent classes have completed projects in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics, Everyday Boston and Old West Church.
