Marianna Bassham

Part-Time Lecturer

Marianna Bassham recently appeared in the New York premiere of Craig Lucas’ I Was Most Alive with You at Playwrights’ Horizons. Other credits include the 2018 Elliot Norton Award-winning Constellations (Central Square Theater); Becoming Cuba, Our Town, and Luck of the Irish (Huntington Theatre Company), Othello, Twelfth Night (Commonwealth Shakespeare Company); Blackbird (Elliot Norton Award), Hand to God, A Future Perfect, In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), and Reckless (SpeakEasy Stage); Little Black Dress (Boston Playwrights’ Theatre); A Streetcar Named Desire, Hedda Gabler (Gamm Theatre); Tartuffe, Picasso at the Lapin Agile and Quills (New Repertory Theatre).

She received a 2009 IRNE Award for her work in Reckless, Little Black Dress, and Blackbird. A resident acting company member with Actors’ Shakespeare Project, she has appeared in Julius Caesar, The Winter’s Tale, The Cherry Orchard, The Hotel Nepenthe (2011 Elliot Norton Award, Best Ensemble), The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Love’s Labor’s Lost, and The Merchant of Venice; Miss Witherspoon and Talley’s Folly (The Lyric Stage Company of Boston). Regional credits: Gloucester Stage Company, WHAT, The Majestic Theater, Great Lakes Theater Festival, Oldcastle Theatre, New Century Theatre, and St. Michael’s Playhouse. Her film credits include Rubberneck and Moonrise Kingdom, and her television credits include “Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women” and the HBO miniseries “Olive Kitteridge.” Marianna is a graduate of Brandeis University’s MFA program.
