Marie Hobeika

Visiting Lecturer

Marie Odile N. Hobeika studies the pathos and style of political discourse. Her dissertation located rhetorical attitudes about epic poetry, attitudes that could be extrapolated to nationalist sentiments conditioned by classical myths. Her next manuscript is in its first stages. It identifies Homeric figures significant to Beirut cultural renaissance and nationalist movements in the early 20th century.’,
