Oliver designs lighting for theater, opera, dance, music, and anything in between. Recent theater work includes Peer Gynt and the Norwegian Hapa Band, Among the Dead, House Rules (Ma-Yi); Sagittarius Ponderosa (NAATCO); Million Dollar Quartet, Little Shop of Horrors, Bells Are Ringing, A Little Night Music (Berkshire Theater Festival); peerless (Yale Rep, Barrington Stage, Cherry Lane); Accidental Death of an Anarchist (Berkeley Rep, Yale Rep); Tar Beach (Luna Stage); Wonderland (Atlantic Theater Co).
Oliver frequently works in the opera world, where recent designs include: Butterfly, Carmen, Lucia di Lammermoor, Dido and Aeneas, Kafka Fragments, Daphnis and Chloe (Heartbeat Opera); Empty the House (Curtis Opera); Erismena (Yale Baroque Opera); Agrippina (Juilliard Opera). Oliver was recently the associate designer for A Doll’s House, Part 2 on Broadway, and designed the Chinese Premiere of Stones in His Pockets at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center.
Oliver has a BA from Hunter College and an MFA from Yale.
