Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sors Anders Drachen and Alessan­dro Canossa work closely with Square Enix on IO Inter­ac­tive to develop new tech­niques that inves­ti­gate behav­ioral game data and its rela­tion to human psy­cho­log­i­cal emo­tions and per­son­al­ity. Their work gives the com­pany valu­able insight while per­fect­ing user design.

Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sor Alessan­dro Canossa worked very closely with Unity at its inception.

Electronic Arts

Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sor and Direc­tor of Game Design Magy Seif El-Nasr, with stu­dents Veron­ica Zam­mitto, Dinara Moura, and Bar­dia Aghabeigi, worked with Elec­tronic Arts to to inves­ti­gate the rela­tion­ship between emo­tion, atten­tion, and game-play behav­ior in sports and role-playing games.


Mem­bers of the Game Design program’s fac­ulty are work­ing with STAR Ana­lyt­ics to develop a crowd-sourc­ing turn-based strat­egy game to inves­ti­gate players’ socio-political behavior.


Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sor and Direc­tor of Game Design Magy Seif El-Nasr is work­ing with Igniteplay to develop, design, and eval­u­ate a social media game called My Spa Resort, which is designed to help peo­ple adopt health­ier lifestyles.
