Mission Hill High School program targets graduation rates

Graduation rates at Mission Hill High School rose from 57.6 percent to 90.8 persent over seven years, thanks in part to a program that gives students extra homework help at the Hyde Park school.  Teachers at the school spend 90 minutes every Tuesday and Thursday giving students extra homework help. The article, “New Mission High School sees big jump in graduation rate,” was reported by Olivia Taggart, a student in Lisa Chedekel’s Reporting for Your Town class.   Other initiatives that contribute to the school’s graduation rate increase is Saturday school and alternative scheduling.
