Journalism alum reports for MSNBC series on children who died from gun violence

Barely a year after graduating from School of Journalism, Michele Richinick landed a job as Digital Writer for MSNBC.com. Richinick writes for the “Too Young to Die” series telling the stories of children who have died from gun violence. The series is receiving national attention because of the one-year anniversary of the Newtown tragedy where 20 children and six adults were killed at the Sandy Hook elementary School a year ago, December 14.

On December 11, MSNBC  Live Anchor, Thomas Roberts, interviewed  Dafna Linzer, managing editor at MSNBE , about the series and mentioned Richinick as the reporter hired for the series.

Richinick’s stories can be read on the series’ website, “Remembering young lives cut short.” Richinick says that NBC’s Nightly News is taking some of the information and photos from her stories for a Friday night broadcast. The news segment will air at 6:30 p.m. ET.
