Investigative Reporting students found Boston paid millions to settle claims against the police department

Students in Investigative Reporting class ended the semester with an investigation on the money the city of Boston has spent to settle claims against the police department. According to the story, “BPD officer still under investigation 6 years after incident that led to 400K settlement,” students found that Boston paid more than $30,000,000 to settle claims. The story, aired May 17, was reported by FOX25 Investigative Reporter and Northeastern Professor, Mike Beaudet. Students who worked on the story were graduate students Audrey Adam, Julia Aparicio, Alexis Herrera, Cameron Machell, Jessica McWeeney and undergraduate students Kelsey Bruun, Angel Feliciano, and Elijah Kaplan.
