Hollywood Orchestration: Master Class
Attend a master class with Dr. Norman Ludwin, Los Angeles area orchestrator and author. Norman’s skills encompass a wide range of abilities, from session player and concert bassist to orchestrator for major motion pictures. He holds a D.M.A. in Composition and is an instructor in the UCLA Extension Film Music Department.
Using examples from John Williams’s film scores, he will share with us his passion for composing and orchestration. Norman will examine in detail three selections by Williams: Star Wars, Jaws, and Born on the Fourth of July. Norman will also take us though a journey of the daily working life of a Hollywood orchestrator having recently worked on the films: Inside Out, Jurassic World, and Star Trek: Into Darkness.
