New England Conservatory and Northeastern have an agreement that allows cross-registration for certain types of courses.
Northeastern students may take NEC classes upon completing the course’s prerequisites, and if room is available in a given course. Examples of classes Northeastern students have taken at NEC include courses that are not part of the NU Music Department’s extensive offerings, such as Advanced Jazz Ear Training and Solfege.
Northeastern students may also participate in NEC ensembles if they pass the group’s audition.
Private lessons at NEC are exempt under this cross-registration agreement.
An NEC course catalogue is available in Head Advisor Allen Feinstein’s office, 351 Ryder.
