Professor Dan Kennedy, a Joan Shorenstein Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School last semester, published “The Bezos Effect: How Amazon’s Founder is Reinventing The Washington Post – and What Lessons it Might Hold for the Beleaguered Newspaper Business,” on the Shorenstein Center’s website. The paper discusses how Jeff Bezos is reinventing The Washington Post—and whether those lessons might be applied to the struggling newspaper business. Bezos purchased the paper in 2013 for $250 million. Kennedy points out that a significant milestone “…of the Bezos era came in October 2015, when the Post moved ahead of The New York Times in web traffic.”
