The Department of Music welcomes Fan Yang as a Visiting Scholar to the University, where she will be resident for one year (November 2015 to November 2016) while completing her dissertation on the piano works of Muzio Clementi. Fan Yang is a doctoral candidate in musicology, majoring in the History of Western Music under the tutelage of Professor Li Xiujun at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Musical Performance, and a masters degree in Piano Performing and Teaching, both from Harbin Normal University in Harbin, China. The subject of her masters thesis was on performance research and analysis on Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor.
