While gold, silver, and bronze metals were being awarded during the gala 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, families who lived for years in the Olympic Park area are not celebrating. They lost their homes because of the Olympic Park construction projects. In an article for PRI.org (formerly GlobalPost) Media Innovation Graduate Student Giulia Afiune tells the heartbreaking stories of these residents. The article and podcast, “The Olympic Park wouldn’t have this babysitter as its neighbor,” was posted on August 5.
