Professor of the Practice Mike Beaudet has joined ABC-affiliated WCVB’s 5 Investigates reporting team where he will work with colleagues Kathy Curran and Karen Anderson. Beaudet will continue teaching at Northeastern while working with WCVB and plans to continue facilitating the collaboration between Northeastern journalism students and WCVB in an effort to broaden their educational experiences and assist the investigative reporting team.
“WCVB is Boston’s news leader for a reason,” Mike said in the press release. “WCVB recognizes what it takes to produce quality investigative journalism. It takes guts, instinct, and a commitment to uncovering the truth, and I look forward to joining a team that exemplifies those attributes.”
In September of this year, Mike left his position at WFXT after a 20-year stint so he could teach at his alma mater; he received his Masters in Journalism from Northeastern in 2008.
“This new partnership with WCVB allows our students to take their work even further,” said Jonathan Kaufman, director of Northeastern’s School of Journalism. “Northeastern students have a proven track record of working alongside professional journalists to produce hard-hitting investigations.”
