Every year, The Chronicle of Higher Education honors one student intern with their prestigious David W. Miller Award for Young Journalists. This year’s recipient was Zipporah Osei, a journalism student in her senior year at Northeastern. In order to be considered for the award, Osei submitted three pieces to judges: the first explored the Johns Hopkins community’s reaction to increased police presence; the second looked into how colleges which suddenly close attempt to support their students; and the third examined money owed to Boston by universities. Osei enjoys reporting on equity and community issues, with a strong focus on education, which she hopes to continue writing on after her graduation in May.
