On October 29, about 300 alumni, faculty, staff and students were treated to an advance showing of “Spotlight,” the acclaimed movie about The Boston Globe’s Spotlight team’s Pulitzer Prize- winning coverage of the Catholic Church sexual abuse scandal. Walter “Robby” Robinson, a former journalism professor and Globe Spotlight editor was played by actor Michael Keaton. Audrey Cooney, journalism undergraduate, reported on the event and panel discussion following the movie for the New England News and Press Association’s Bulletin. The story, “‘Spotlight” shines light on journalism’s impact on lives was posted on November 2.
