A Tribute to the Dream
TUESDAY, JANUARY 19 AT 3:00PM TO 4:00PM
CURRY STUDENT CENTER , BALLROOM
FREE

A commemoration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and featuring some of Northeastern’s own remarkable talent, this event will highlight jazz and blues music, in a jazz club atmosphere, in a nod to Dr. King’s enthusiasm for these genres. The event represents an opportunity for our community to enjoy and celebrate the musical, vocal and educational gifts that lie within the Northeastern family. These are the voices, the hands, the hearts that help shape who we are and that tell stories of courage and resilience.

Tisha Stadnicki and Joel LaRue Smith will be performing, as well as Angelica Hairston who is a graduate student in Music Industry Leadership. Tisha will be singing “Walkin’ the Line” a composition written by her mother Mary Lou Sawyer. She will joined by her father Ken Sawyera professional musician and teacher. Music students include Ian Brenckle (’15), Rae Fagin, Farah Griffin, Taylor Smith, and Aaron Kanzer.

Sponsored by the Office of the President
