To mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, Professor Leon Janikian, along with three other musicians, has been a clarinet soloist, lecturer, and member of a quartet presenting a special musical program From Ararat to America: 100 Years of Traditional Armenian Music.

In May 2014 the program was presented at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and on September 11 and 12, 2015 at North Park University Chicago. Each residency includes a lecture, a master classes and music demonstration for the host institution and one or two public concerts.

Further, Janikian and Berklee professor John Baboian gave a commemorative concert on April 24, 2015 outdoors at the Armenian Genocide Memorial on the Rose Kennedy Greenway with over 6000 attendees present.
