The news media played a big role in presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump’s rise the top, according to Professor Dan Kennedy in his July 12 opinion piece in The Washington Post.

“The debates gave Donald Trump the nomination, and it’s the media’s fault,” Kennedy wrote. “Trump won that first debate by bullying the moderators and the other candidates with a series of insults and put-downs, thus setting the tone for the rest of the campaign. But he also enjoyed some enormous advantages that the media never should have given him.”
