Professor Shuishan Yu has been included in the Globalizing the Video Architectural History Timeline Project developed by  Joseph Bedford, Assistant Professor of History and Theory at Virginia Tech. The project of Global History in architectural education demands a broader range of global expertise from the teacher of the typical survey course in American Universities than ever before, especially first hand research knowledge and language skills. Professor Bedford created this collection of GAHTC videos as a resource that will augment the introductory lecture courses . It will give students access to a wider range of voices with local knowledge, research expertise and language skills than one professor alone can master in a lifetime.

Professor Yu’s research focuses on Chinese architecture, modern architecture and its theoretical discourse, literati arts, and Buddhist architecture in East Asia and he teaches introductory courses in architectural history and Chinese Architecture.
