According to Kelly Kasulis, journalism senior, Mattel needs to rethink its new Asian Barbie, following the company’s much publicized new collection of more realistic sized Barbie Dolls. Kasulis says, “There are no curvy Asian Barbies,…only the svelte, long-haired version with the fringe bangs, as per the stereotype.” Her article, “Asian Barbie’s evolution wasn’t intelligently designed,” appeared in The Boston Globe’s “Opinion” page on February 14.
