Activating Blackboard or Canvas for access to key systems
While course materials can be disseminated through a variety of systems, faculty are still expected to activate their Canvas or Blackboard course so that they and students can access specialized tools that are made available through those platforms, such as lecture recordings (Panopto Lecture Capture), accepting assignments, moderating discussion forums, and delivering exams. Here are some helpful links to activating and getting started with Blackboard and Canvas
- Make a course in Blackboard available to students
- Post a syllabus in Blackboard
- Post a syllabus in Canvas
Please be mindful that all sensitive data, such as student grades need to stay in university controlled systems such as Blackboard and Canvas. Do not store sensitive or protected information in Google Drive, Dropbox, or other external platforms.
