Sei Jung

Sei Jung is an interdisciplinary researcher and creative practitioner. Her research investigates societal systems through practice-based methods. She has a background in art theory and experience in independent curatorial practices, cultural institutions, and graphic design.

As a practitioner, she explores the concept of reinterpretation by surfacing hidden systems, shifting hierarchies, and recontextualizing artifacts. Thematically, her artworks engage in critical discussions about human–nonhuman relationships. She examines the multidirectional interactions between biological species through tangible and digital media.

Her work is driven by a love of and curiosity about human culture and lifeforms. In her doctoral studies, she focuses on human–nonhuman cohabitation in urban environments through creative and civic practice. Her other research interests include online privacy and security, and ethics in technology.
