Performing Arts Administration

Reflecting our commitment to creative entrepreneurship, this interdisciplinary CAMD minor prepares you to work in non-profit arts organizations such as theater companies, concert venues, and performance centers. Students develop practical skills in artistic programming, marketing, organizational communication, public relations, and the business of entertainment.

Students in the minor choose an introductory path through music or theatre and share one foundational course in Performing Arts Administration uniting the two disciplines. They can choose two additional courses from 10 electives including one online course in Arts and Culture Organizational Leadership.

Course Plan

Restrictions
Theatre and Music majors or minors may double count one course: THTR 1101 Introduction to Theatre or Introduction to Music Industry
All other students may double count no more than one course with any declared major or minor.
Music majors or minors may not take MUSI 3340 Concert Promotion and Venue Management as an elective.
Theatre majors or minors may not take THTR 2335 Boston Theatre Experience as an elective
