CAMD is where creativity, collaboration, and communication collide. Our interdisciplinary research initiatives open opportunities for a broad intersection of Northeastern students, along with expert faculty, external researchers, and industry partners. Join us as we explore how new media technologies impact communication, creative engagement, and the human experience.

Interdisciplinary Research Lab
The Interdisciplinary Research Lab at CAMD is a multi-use research space for CAMD faculty and graduate students. Located in 171 Holmes, the lab supports research activity and innovation across the range of CAMD disciplines and is a hub for the Dean’s Fellows, a select group of faculty doing interdisciplinary research in design and data storytelling. With its open layout, flexible configuration, magnetic dry-erase walls, and top-of-the-line audio/visual equipment, the lab provides CAMD researchers an ideal space in which to communicate, collaborate, and create.
CAMD Dean’s Research Fellows
The College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) Dean’s Research Fellowship is a one-year faculty appointment awarded to faculty members conducting research and creative activity in the areas of creativity, communication and collaboration, and in support of the greater Northeastern 2025 vision. Fellows are selected by the Dean and placed into interdisciplinary research teams that represent key strategic themes of the college.
