Northeastern student Megan Johnson was found volunteering for the #UNICEF American fund this week on campus opposite Snell Library. The fundraiser, a trick-or-treat campaign raising money in lieu of candy for Halloween is one of Johnson's favorites, but certainly not the first time she has volunteered in a similar vein. (The money raised will go to food, water, vaccinations and medicine for children in the third world.) Hailing from Tyngsboro, Mass. (near New Hampshire), Johnson attended a Catholic school where she had the opportunity to visit Zambia for a month amongst other countries during the school's African mission. The political science and international affairs major said she hopes to pursue a career with the US State Department. Johnson is very enthusiastic about Northeastern. Her favorite thing about the school? "Co-op," she said, even though she hasn't gone on one yet. "I think the work experience is so important, even though applying is stressing me out," Johnson added. #digiNU
