Production Spaces

The Studio Theatre is an intimate, flexible black box where most productions play for two weeks – 48 performances a year. Most performances are sold-out.

For experimental and developmental work, students perform in the Ryder Theatre Lab. Acting for the Camera is held in the state-of-the-art CAMD Media Studios.

 

Booking Space

All of our spaces are heavily booked with department classes, scenic builds, rehearsals, and performances.  However, when available we are happy to share our spaces with university partners.

The Studio Theatre is reserved for Department of Theatre productions, rehearsals and classes, as well as CAMD special events and programs. It is not available for outside rental and are generally reserved for student use by Theatre majors and minors only.

The Ryder Theatre Lab is home to experiential work, performances classes, showcases, and new plays.  Working with Technical Director Eric Kelly and Costume Shop Supervisor Margaret Koerber, students construct scenery and costumes in our on campus productions shops. Performance courses are also held in our Acting Studio and Acting for camera courses are held in the CAMD Media Studio.

You’ll be amazed how faculty, student, and professional guest designers completely transform the space with each production. Working with Mätthew Williams and Margaret Koerber, students construct scenery and costumes in our adjoining costume and scene shops.
