Make Your Passion Your Profession

One of the distinguishing features of Northeastern University is our signature co-op program. Through co-op you can work full-time in professional theatre to begin develop your future career path. A co-op is not required, but it is part of what makes a Northeastern education transformative. Theatre students can take up to three semesters off from their academic studies to work in professional theatre. You can do a Co-op with one of Boston’s many professional theatres, or one in New York City, or even internationally. Whether it’s for the Broadway League or SpeakEasy Stage Company, our Co-op Advisor Pamela Goodale can help you find the right connections for your ambitions and interests.

Co-op employment areas typically include:
Artistic Leadership
Literary Management/New Play Development
Stage Management
Education and Community Outreach
Theatre Marketing
Theatre Administration/Business of Theatre
Scenic Design/Scene Shop
Costume Design/Costume Shop
Lighting Design/Electrics
