The Jungle Book (2013)
Located adjacent to the Northeastern campus, the Huntington Theatre Company brings together superb local and national talent and produces a mix of groundbreaking new works and classics made current to create award-winning productions. Northeastern theatre students engage with this leading professional theatre company through specially designed co-ops, professional development seminars, and master classes. They will have opportunities to attend Huntington productions free-of-charge, giving them access to some of the most exciting and innovative work in contemporary theatre. The Huntington’s season is featured in the course “Boston Theatre Experience” and integrated into other classes and areas of study.
Becoming Cuba (2014)
Recipient of the 2013 Regional Theatre Tony Award, the Huntington has played to an audience of more than 3.5 million and presented over 200 plays – 16 of which went to Broadway or Off Broadway. Through a diverse range of nationally renowned education and community programs, the Huntington serves 33,000 young people and underserved audiences each year. It sponsors new play development programs and supports the Boston theatre community through its operation of the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.
