Costume Shop Manager
Paula Ries is a 2005 Northeastern University alumnus who returned to Boston after receiving an MFA in Costume Design from Carnegie Mellon University. She has worked at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Old Globe Theatre, the New Harmony Theatre, the Carnegie School of Music, Wheaton College, and New England Conservatory of Music. The resident costume designer for the nationally touring Squonk Opera, Paula designed costumes for their outrageous and innovative productions: GO Roadshow, and Mayhem and Majesty that later went on to Off- Broadway. Other favorite stage productions include The Laramie Project, The Turn of the Screw, The Tender Land, Pippin, Bethany, Clybourne Park, 27 Tips for Banishing the Blues, What Happens When, and The Phantom Lady. Her numerous film and TV credits range from the USA Network to independent films. Paula won the Best Costumes award for her work on Nathan’s Rebellion from the 2004 Indie Gathering Film Festival.
This fall, Paula is teaching Fashion Construction and Pattern Making.
