Why did you choose Northeastern, and who influenced you the most during your time here?

Northeastern was one of the few universities to have a program that focused on the music business. I knew I was destined for the music business, and examining the courses of the Music Industry curriculum confirmed my decision that this was the right choice.

Meeting people in the industry as “special guests” were some of the most empowering experiences because it made things more real. These were people making a living in the music business, and I could be one of them some day.

What did you learn from your co-op experience while at Northeastern?

For my co-op, I worked at several Boston commercial recording studios, and this was an incredible experience that prepared me for my future endeavors. I learned how the business of a recording studio works, I learned proper etiquette, management, and people skills.

Stay dedicated, motivated, and tenacious about your passions. People who lack motivation and doubt themselves do not succeed.

What advice do you have for students who are developing their professional identity or are interested in starting their own business or working in the music industry

Stay dedicated, motivated, and tenacious about your passions. People who lack motivation and doubt themselves do not succeed.

Create an end game of where you want to be, and then develop a logical strategy that explains how you will get there. Along the way, learn from other professionals, be strong and understand there will be obstacles, but be determined to reach your destination no matter what.

Why do you stay involved with Northeastern?

As I said previously, the most memorable experiences at Northeastern were when alumni and other professionals gave back by coming to speak with us. Now I have the power to be one of those people, I can inspire young students to live their dreams.
