Jamie Ducharme graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. During her time at Northeastern, she completed two co-ops. In her co-op with Boston magazine, she discovered her interest in writing about health and science. Her second co-op, with Metis Communications, had her focusing on pitching reporters story ideas. While on campus, she was actively involved as a staff writer for The Huntington News and the Editor-in-Chief for the campus lifestyle magazine.

After graduating, she returned to Boston magazine as a Health Editor. From there, she continued her health and science reporting for Time magazine as a reporter. Since first joining the company, she has become as Health correspondent, writing several cover stories on prominent health topics like e-cigarette company Juul and Covid-19.

Her work on Juul in 2019 led to her expanding her reporting into Big Vape: The Incendiary Rise of Juul, which came out in 2021. Most recently, Netflix turned her book into a four-part documentary. It dropped on October 11, 2023.

““I always say, I fully attribute my career to the Northeastern co-op program,” she told News at Northeastern. “My first co-op…ended up becoming my first job out of college. That job really was like a springboard to landing at Time. So I am forever grateful to the co-op program and getting that work experience which is so important in a field like journalism where it can be very hard to break in.”
