Where we innovate

We are a hub for technology-driven interdisciplinary creative research and practice, collaborating across disciplines to make transformative change in the world.

AI at CAMD

At the College of Arts, Media and Design, artificial intelligence is neither a purely technical subject nor a distant social phenomenon to be observed from the outside. We are practitioners, critics, and creators, and we bring that orientation directly to how we engage with AI — as a technology to be used thoughtfully, a cultural force to be understood critically, and a field to be shaped with intention. Our approach is organized around three interconnected commitments: creativity, critical engagement, and literacy.

AI-Media Strategies (AIMS) Lab

The AI-Media Strategies Lab – AIMS Lab – focuses on the use of AI technologies in media industries, providing evidence-based recommendations to organizations, and producing research leveraging methods such as surveys, focus groups, experiments, and data analysis.

Media in Motion II

Shaping AI for Critical Creative Futures

The symposium will bring together scholars, artists, and practitioners from peer institutions, media industries, and the Northeastern community, featuring presentations, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, a film screening, and an exhibition of interactive media artwork. Participants will leave with a richer understanding of how we can be active agents in shaping AI — and how, in turn, it will shape our critical and creative futures.
