Facebook’s impact on new journalism

With the announcement of Facebook’s new “instant articles” feature, which stores news articles natively on Facebook in order to have faster load times, news organizations are scrambling to determine how they can best utilize, and avoid being taken advantage of, the new platform. School of Journalism professor and media commentator Dan Kennedy was interviewed for the piece.

“This wonderful universe that we imagined 10 or 15 years ago of a great decentralized web where people can compete on an equal playing field is quickly giving way to an environment controlled by these enormous tech companies that have their own agendas,” says Dan Kennedy.
