Northeastern is proud to welcome Aubrey Simonson, the university’s first recipient of the Graduate Fellowship in STEM Diversity (GFSD). The GFSD awards “graduate students who are American citizens and seek a PhD in science or engineering.”
Aubrey is a virtual reality designer and lecturer. He graduated from the MIT Media Lab in 2021 with an M.S. in Media Arts & Sciences. He has studied many elements of virtual reality, including user-assigned menus to create pockets in virtual environments. He currently lectures at the School of the Museum of the Fine Arts at Tufts University. He comes to the College of Media, Arts and Design for his PhD focused on virtual reality.
