Lewis graduated from CAMD with a Bachelor’s of Science in music in 2018. During his time at CAMD, he took classes focused on Western composition and also worked as a media technician. It was in his final year that he took a sound design elective, which put him on a new course. “To get started in games, you don’t need to be a programmer. You can still be tech savvy and use these tools without needing to be a computer science major. So after I did that [course], I decided to just make my focus entirely game audio,” he told CAMD.
After graduating, he headed to Savannah College of Art and Design, where he earned an Master’s of Fine Arts in sound design. He was accepted into Sony’s prestigious internship focused on sound design in 2020. However, the role was put on hold and ultimately cancelled in the wake of COVID-19. However, after working with a recruiter, he joined Sony’s Magic Lab as an intern “as the only audio person doing audio r&d and creating demos from scratch.”
Through his avid networking, Lewis connected with 343 Industries and Warner Bros. Post Production Creative Services, where he currently works as a sound designer, working on projects like Lego Fortnite.
