Lauren Walsh graduated with a BA in Media and Screen Studies in 2023. She completed two co-ops in the film industry, with WE tv and IFC Films.
While completing her co-op at IFC Films as an acquisitions coordinator, she focused on tracking performance data of current releases and tracking films in the indie festival circuit. That experience proved foundational; she came up with the idea for her senior capstone when she returned to campus. Her capstone would turn into North x Northeastern, the first campus-wide film festival showcasing films from students and alumni. The festival, which debuted in March 2023, curated a selection of 29 films for attendees, featuring z range of styles, from dystopian short films and animation.
