Michelle Satter is the Founding Senior Director of Artist Programs at Sundance Institute as well as the founding director of the Feature Film Program. She has led the filmmakers’ lab since she started at Sundance over 40 years ago. Over the course of her tenure at the Sundance Institute, she has worked with directors like Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Black Panther) and the Daniels (Swiss Army Man, Everything Everywhere All At Once).
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, she created a way for filmmakers to congregate digitally with the Sundance Co//ab digital platform. In November 2023, she will receive a Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award alongside Hollywood icons like Mel Brooks and Angela Bassett.
